About Us

“Association of Professional Graduate Civil Engineers” [APGCE] was formed in the Year 2005, as a non-profit, non-political association of Professional Graduate Civil & Architectural Engineers registered under “Society Regn. Act-1860”. Members of APGCE are Practicing Civil & Architectural Engineers, providing technical assistance to the civil society in the constructions of safe structures & Infra structure, be it industrial, institutional, commercial or residential etc.
Further, with the gradual establishment of APGCE centres in the states of Assam, Bihar, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand, APGCE_UP now has transformed into APGCE_India and presently having 39 City Chapters across the Country. With these City Chapters, APGCE is expanding at a fairly fast pace to give common platform to all those Civil & Architectural Engineers who are into Design, Construction and allied activities.
APGCE took up the issue of “Competency of Engineer” in professional practice, in the light of “NBC-2005” and for making the ‘National Building Code’ mandatory in the UP state. APGCE organized many national/regional level seminars/workshops jointly with concerned institutions/ departments like BIS, Urban Planning deptt. and with different stake holders on the same, to sensitize the policy makers.

Finally APGCE got the following Government Orders issued by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh which are landmark achievements of APGCE for practising Engineers :
  1. GO-118/eight -1- 08/07 :
    • for making ‘Competency of Civil/Arch. Engineer’ in accordance with Annex-Aof National Building Code. (foreword and clauses 2.17, 6.5, 6.6, 9.1.3, 12.2.8, 12.3 and 12.9) ‘Guide for qualification and competence of professionals.
    • for exemption of practicing Graduate Civil/ Arch. Engr. from registration in any Authority or Department connected with Building construction.

  2. GO- 119/eight -1- 08/07 :
    • for making provision of ‘National Building Code-2005’ mandatory in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

  3. GO-2144/AB-1/Dir./ 2018-19:
    • for empowerment of Civil/ Architectural Engineers to submit all plans and information connected with building permits in “Online BuildingPlan Approval System” [OBPAS].

Following are some other achievements of APGCE :
  1. The Largest Association and only registered body for Professional Graduate Civil & Architectural Engineers, working in many states with 39 City Chapters PAN INDIA

  2. Only Indian Engineering body helping its members to connects, interact to update, upgrade skills and improve professionally by providing national level platform.

  3. APGCE is part of all the National level teams working for the formulation of Engineer’s Bill and the enactment of Engineers ACT.

  5. To spread awareness about the social responsibility of the members in the society.

  6. To upgrade and update the knowledge and practice of Architectural & Civil Engineers.

  7. To inspire the young generation to opt for Civil Engineering as a career and profession.
